Duolingo: Language Learning for Free

Hi all,

Hope you had a great long weekend. I know I did!

Lately, I decided to learn a different language (German) for fun. We all know how expensive it is to learn a different language. Many times we have to learn by going to a foreign country or spend thousands of dollars on a tutor. But have no fear, there are solutions. Mine is Duolingo. This online educational website that has lessons, translations, and dictionaries…for free! Check it out here, I highly recommend.

Filipino Food for the Soul

Hi all,

At Homestay in LA, we are extremely multicultural. U being from Switzerland and me from the Philippines. We like to embrace the cultures of the world, especially our own. This week, U shared her Swiss farmer’s bread. Today, I would like to share a Filipino restaurant my friend and I visited the last weekend. We had delicious pancit, beefsteak, and rice. In true Filipino fashion, the food was served family style and was too much for us to eat in one sitting. Check out these pictures and visit Barrio Fiesta
